Budget insights: Union Budget 2021 for MSMEs
expectations like never before ! announcements like never before ?
First time in history, The paperless Union Budget
To say, 2020 had been tough, is an understatement. For millions of small to medium businesses in India the COVID-19 pandemic triggered the ‘big reset’. The FM will present the Union Budget 2021 on Feb 1 against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Modi led government is expected to walk a tightrope between managing fiscal deficit and resetting the country’s growth agenda.
As India looks to recover from the impact of the pandemic and move forward with resilience, there are huge expectations from Union Budget 2021-22.
The chief problem for the sector has been financial. With no money coming in due to lockdown, most MSMEs had to dip into their already scarce reserves to pay their bills, posing businesses continuity challenges and irrevocably changing the world and the world of work. Some of the abrupt changes the coronavirus brought to the fore may stick around forever and these changes have huge implications for businesses and business leaders as they plan for 2021. Considering the shutdown in the economy as the nation went into a 21-day lockdown to stop the transmission of Covid-19 and the Government extended the lockdown in phases till May 31, MSME’s which form part of the backbone of the Indian value chain are expecting a big relief and reforms in the upcoming budget.
Accordingly, there are expectations that the Government is likely to continue to provide momentum to the economy by announcing strong policy measures and reforms in the upcoming budget.Join us in this live talk show to decode the key budget announcements vs what industry experts have expected until before the announcement.
