Wipro Bags Deal from Fruit of the Loom

Wipro has bagged a multi-million dollar technology services deal from American underwear maker Fruit of the Loom. It’s a company owned by Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway.

Fruit of the Loom is an American company based in Kentucky. The firm is expected to begin phased transition of its IT services to Wipro and the process will continue through March next year. “Wipro does not comment on specific client engagements,” said a company spokesperson.

The main focus of the deal is to improve the efficiency in supply chain and distribution. “We will transition additional services to Wipro Limited, which has been a strategic partner since 2013,” said a spokesperson for Fruit of The Loom.

According to analysts, such IT infrastructure management contracts may keep running up to $8-$10 million relying upon the duration of the agreement.
